Just a little smile

A lovely friend of mine who has a large family shared this with me,
and I wanted to post it for you to enjoy.

I know I have waxed poetic on so many occasions about the joys of having a big family, and yet, here I am, on a semi-regular basis, feeling a bit swamped with "only two" (although I rather detest the word "only" applied to children, as though one doesn't have a real family until some magic number). So please don't mistake my enthusiasm for ignorance; I am certain parents of large families work really hard. It isn't easy.

But...

what I think this song captures so sweetly is that children are such a source of joy. So for every long day (or sleepless night) they bring us, they give us so, so much more. Somedays I can't help but smile as I think that the love Patrick and I share is so real that it produced two eternal souls.

What an adventure parenthood is!

  1. I'm so glad you enjoyed this! My family isn't even really that big. We have four little monkeys, which seems small when I see some families with 6 or... 19. haha Seriously though, I loved the video for the same reason you did, the joy for life that was so obvious. :)

  2. That video was so sweet and Isaac danced wildly to it collapsing on the floor at the end. Thank you for sharing. Dave is bringing it to work to share with a colleague.

  3. Delightful song, Jenna. I am so glad you posted it and I listened. We're at the waiting for grandchildren stage while we enjoy friends' little ones. There's always room in our hearts for another precious gift.
