The winners, and so long (for now)
I had wanted to post pictures of my Big Exciting Draw, where Patrick with a somewhat confused expression draws two names from a basket after I had lovingly written them out.
But I am so very tired today. The idea of retrieving my camera, uploading my pictures and so on, is exhausting me. I wish I had a 'normal' excuse -- baby not sleeping through the night, pregnancy-induced insomnia, or any insomnia for that matter -- but I am tired out by just trying to make it through the day.
As absolutely dweeby as it sounds, I am very much looking forward to Lent, which begins tomorrow, hurray! I am going to do my utmost to quiet my heart by stepping away from the online (non) world and be more present to the real people who mean the world to me -- my family.
Of course I love being connected with friends and family, but I will be frank, I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook and even blogging -- in that I love with whom I am able to connect with, but hate the means with which it is happening. I need a break from it all.
I actually had deactivated my Facebook account after kicking and screaming at the Holy Spirit for about two months, only to cave when Patrick went to Washington for all of four days and I was 'bored.' I really liked not having it as a constant glowing temptation -- to check this, update that, comment on this, and otherwise pull me away from what is important to what suddenly seems 'urgent.'
Enough is enough.
At least for now.
So without further ado, the winner of the second-place draw is
Christy!
The winner of the first-place draw is
Sarah!
If you could kindly email me your mailing addresses to craine mom at gmail dot com, I will go ahead and pop your prizes into the mail!

I am such a cruel wife :) andrew has been looking forward to this draw for days, so I was reading the post to him, and when I got to first place I totally made it seem like it was going to be him :P
ReplyDeletehehehe.
I have so much admiration for you sticking it out and getting rid of the online for lent, I'm trying to cut back as well. Regardless, I think that lent should involve the taking up of something, not just giving up, and I think we should take up our families seeing more of each other...what say you Jenna?
(Andrew just pointed out that you may never read this since you are not online. Which means eventually I am going to have to use the phone. shudder. giving up internet as means of communication is hard for those of us with phone phobia :S )
