Welcome (again)!
Well hello there, friends. You may remember me as the author of my former blog, Last Things first. (In actual fact, you more likely remember me as your little sister, former college roommate, friend, neighbour... which was precisely why you read my old blog. It's not like I'm a celebrity or something.)
The short answer is "because I felt like it." I had been blogging at Last Things first for almost four years (!), a project I began before I gave birth to my oldest child. I have enjoyed the journey, and as silly as it sounds, I relish having the archived posts from so long ago to remind me what we were doing back then.
Yet the "old" me, the one who first created that blog, has changed a lot. Since I started blogging, I gave birth to two children, moved from one province to another and then two more times in the new province, buried my very beloved grandmother, and underwent some personal changes amidst and because of these events.
I played around with having an invite-only blog. The trouble was, though, I couldn't figure out how to add more people after I set up the initial list (I am a blogging Luddite sometimes I think). Plus, I didn't like the 'exclusiveness' that the invite-only blog bred. So if you are interested in reading this, then by all means, do so.
I hope that makes sense.
My sweet youngest child is the king of cute nicknames. Often he surprises me by flinging his arms around my leg and declaring "Mommy Ga!" It melts my heart every time. My favourite, though, is when he calls me "Mama-luia." A friend of mine joked when she overhead this term of endearment, "You should start a blog called that!" I laughed at the time and later thought, what a good idea!
To me, being called "Mama-luia" is such a gift. Not only does it sound so sweet coming from his little mouth, it acts as a reminder and challenge to me to praise our good and loving God always. Always.

So why the change, you ask?

And what is with the phrase "Mamaluia?"

whhheeeeeeeeeeee So glad to have found you :)
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't believe how many variations of mamaluia.blogspot I have tried since I saw you on Friday night. I might have a stalking problem. Perhaps it would be solved by you being my neighbour, then I could just yell across the fence when I needed some Jenna :
Or maybe you BOTH need to be MY neighbours, because then we could brainstorm blog posts together over steaming hot beverages and chocolate pudding pie while the children all played quietly together in the next room. (Or, more realistically, we'd just do it after they all went to sleep!)
ReplyDeleteHooray! I love your new space here :) Mama-luia is superrrrr cute of Isaiah.. will be back here often, I know it!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're blogging again! I miss you, and it's good to read your thoughts. <3
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I ever wold have found you had my mother not used her international savvy skills to sleuth you out. ha! found you and glad that I did. I'm going to leave international in that sentence because its funny but its really supposed to be Internet but the $&@/ iPad changes everything I write!
