My little Isaiah
This has been a magical year with you, one of much much hope for our family, and for me.
On your first Epiphany, when you were in the womb, we drew gifts for everyone as is our tradition. My friend Angela was staying with us at the time and she pointed out I had forgotten to draw a gift for you.
So I said a prayer, put my hand in the basket and drew the word "hope." How perfect a word to sum you up, even before you were born!
So I wanted your name to reflect the hope you brought to our family."Isaiah" means "God is salvation." What greater hope do any of us have, but to spend eternity with God? You, in your very name, tell the world that.
Have hope, you say, with your sweet smile.
Take heart, you say, with you infectious laugh and adorable dance.
Happy Birthday Isaiah!!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet Jenna! This post makes me wish to live closer, to get to know your little guys and to see you blossoming into such a beautiful mama that you are! Happy first birthday Isaiah!
ReplyDeleteHe was also extremely well-behaved at the ordination. We were impressed with Patrick's cool but firm fatherly presence. Also, I always pray for a word for every baby when they are in the womb and this little one's is hope. When I read that hope was Isaiah's epiphany gift my eyes welled up with tears. Happy Birthday. We were sorry to have missed you on Saturday, Jenna.
ReplyDeleteYou forgot to mention the delightful way he terrifies his slightly older cousin! Silly boy - all that crawling and those happy grunts! :) My kid is a bit of a weenie, I know. I think it's hilarious that she freaks out when he comes toward her. I, on the other hand, get downright giddy when he comes toward me. :)
