Some pictures of home, and an invitation
Patrick is out with my parents' van tonight, busily taking boxes into our new house with the help of my ever-selfless father-in-law. I'm home as Noah peacefully sleeps, dreaming of the big plot of land we'll get explore first thing tomorrow. Our first day in our home!
I probably should be putting our remaining things into boxes. You know, like, this computer. But I am so eager to show you our home, and invite you to come over for a cup of tea (hot or iced, we like both!) or some homemade gingerale. Whatever you choose. We have no furniture actually in the house yet, of course, so until then, you're most welcome to pull up a cardboard box and enjoy our ocean view with us.

Without further adieu, the house:
Just picture some sweet hanging baskets and a few Craine touches and it will be perfect.
It's home. Our home.
Yet an amazing gift to a cloth-diapering stay-at-home mom: a washer and dryer!
We'll read, play, pray, paint, sew, laugh, blare music, sing songs, resolve conflicts, debate, explore, and do all the things that families do right around here.
Digging that handmade hearth, no?
Many a cozy winter night I expect to sit here, listening to Patrick read aloud, drinking in deeply hot tea and the smell of salt water.
This will be Patrick's office, as well as a tv room for the occasional movie (but no 'actual' tv. We don't have stations/cable, nor do we plan to ever go that route.)
We'll probably change the colour eventually, but it's actually decent for now.
A constant reminder to praise God, thank Him for the gift of our home. Such a gift.
I see games of duck-duck-goose and making smores by a big ol' campfire and gardening and barbecuing and all sorts of things happening here.
As you can imagine, we are just so happy. I am already scouring the internet for ideas on gardening (I'm pretty interested in this book, and this company) as I dream of working our way up to a more self-sustaining life (minus chickens. I love farm-fresh eggs but me and any feathered creature do not mix. Too Alfred Hitchcock for me.). As well as ye ol' Kijiji is being used and abused for inexpensive furniture and fun knick-knacks.
Again, pop by whenever you can, dear friends! We look forward to seeing you!
Jenna, I hardly know what to say, your new home is so beautiful. You said it was across the street from the Church, but I never imagined that you meant directly across from it! How wonderful!! and then to also be able to see the ocean from your yard, what a blessing. God is so very good, isn't He?? I am so pleased for you and your family :) We can't wait to come out and see it once you're all settled in. Blessings to you throughout this move!
ReplyDeleteYour new home looks really nice!! SOOO happy for you guys! Across the street from the Church- AMAZING. And Noah is going to LOVE that playset:)
ReplyDeleteJenna, Your new home really is very beautiful. It looks completely renovated and I love the bathroom colours and the kitchen cabinets. The back view is especially wonderful. I will have to tell Erin that you are living across from St. Genevieve's (although I am sure that she has read your post).
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful home! You made it outta da hood. Props.
ReplyDeleteI don't know where it is!?
I just remembered - St. Genevieve's is in Chezzettcook (sp?).
