It's been 7 years in the making
But as of Saturday, my husband is a university graduate.
With having a new job, moving this very weekend, and of course, the arrival of our exquisite child, I don't think this event really matters to him.
But it does to me.

The wife of a perpetual student is one who chooses Mr. Noodle for lunch so that textbooks can be bought.
She smiles as authentically as possible about borrowing a free, boring movie from the school library rather than going to a theatre.
She takes the bus while extremely pregnant to buy groceries because owning a car just isn't feasible.
She pukes on buses, too, when a little less pregnant and riddled with morning sickness.
She willingly lives on a university campus, putting up with 18 year old hooligan neighbours who think that 1:30 am is a good time to scream and blare music.
And last but not least, the wife of the perpetual student gives birth during her husband's finals.

Can you see why this day is momentous to me?
Before you think, wow, good for her, it's behind them now, keep in mind that Patrick darling has already started his M.A.
At least we'll be living at my parents' place for the first couple of months, where Mr. Noodle is unthinkable.

Actually, I hear the students at Mom & Dad's house enjoy a fair amount of Mr. Noodle...
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Patrick nonetheless. :)
